Have you every thought about adopting a bunny, cat or dog? Then you think you want a specific breed and not just one of the Fur Babies at a shelter or rescue? Did you think you have to find a breeder, whether good or bad? Before you decide to contact a breeder, let us talk about the fact that there are at least a million Fur Babies (possibly as much as between nine and thirteen million, who are euthanized every year according to a shelter manager in 2017, which has been cited in the Blog, An Important Message To All Pet Parents). This information comes from someone who (when the article was written) is a manager at a shelter. (It could be more now.) One is even too many, much less at least a few million. So, now do you still want to buy from a breeder and keep lining the pockets of the breeders?
It doesn’t even have to be the “big” puppy, kitty or bunny mills, it could even be the “mom & pop” mills, because all of these breeders are greedy and like the pimps in the prostitute business, this is what breeders are, except this happens to be female Fur Babies. Stop allowing the breeders fool you, no one is profiting except the breeders, taking your money.

With at least a million Fur Baby lives lost every year, there is no reason for anyone to breed, or buy from a breeder, ever. If someone tells you to look for a responsible breeder, if this person were responsible, they wouldn’t be breeding since a million innocent Fur Babies lose their lives for no reason other than there’s no room for them “at the inn” because of breeding and uneducated prospective Pet Parents.
Adopt Before You Shop.
So think twice before you think you have to have a specific breed, and if you do, below are just a few examples of how to look up a rescue of that breed and remember to put in your state or a specific area like Southern California.
